Breaking habits

Is there a “bad” habit that you have tried many times to break but just could not do it for whatever reason? If so, ask yourself, what would motivate you to break that habit?

Would it help you to know that what you are eating or drinking is killing your brain cells, harming your body, bringing you closer to a chronic illness, worsening an existing condition?

Would it help you to determine how much you would save by quitting the “bad” habit? For example, for every Starbucks latte, pack of cigarettes, bottle of wine, etc. that you stop buying, how much would you save and what would you spend those savings on? A gym membership? A new bicycle? A trip?

Would it help you to quit cold turkey? Make gradual changes?

Would it help you to quit with friends and support?

Think about what truly motivates you. You can break that habit. Your health and body are already thanking you because you are now giving it consideration.

Know yourself. Love yourself. To your health!
